Description
This is the Trumeter 2630 cable and wire length measurer supplied with a shaft encoder instead of a mechanical counter. The machine is the same rugged bench unit – 0.5mm to 15mm diameter material, threaded between two rollers, read off a 250mm circumference polyurethane covered wheel – but the output is electrical.
That opens up what you can do with the reading. It is supplied matched with the Trumeter 7932 digital counter, but the encoder output can be fed to any counter, PLC or control system with an electronic input – so length can drive a cut-to-length stop, a batch count, or a data log rather than just being read off a dial.
Threading works as it does on the mechanical version: two externally mounted adjustable tension springs unhook from their anchors so the measuring head pivots up to a backstop, and the cable feeds straight through. It runs continuously at 25 metres per second.
