Description
Nitto Tape No.15 is a self-fusing tape made from non-vulcanised butyl rubber. It carries no conventional adhesive: stretched and wrapped over itself, the layers fuse into a single continuous mass, forming a seal with no seam for water to find.
That makes it the tape for terminating and joining electrical cable ends, sealing connections against moisture, and protecting cords and fittings that live outdoors. Its electrical properties, ozone resistance and weather resistance are what set it apart from a standard vinyl tape, and it does not corrode the metals it is wrapped around.
Because it fuses rather than sticks, it also comes off cleanly: there is no adhesive residue left on the cable when it is cut away. It stretches to 550% of its length, so a single roll wraps a lot further than the 10 metres suggests.
Key Benefits
- Self-fusing – the layers bond into one continuous mass, sealing with no seam
- No adhesive, so it leaves no residue on cables or fittings when removed
- Superior electrical properties for terminating and joining cable ends
- Ozone and weather resistant – built for outdoor and exposed installations
- Does not cause corrosion of the metals it contacts
- Stretches to 550%, so a 10 metre roll covers a long run
