Choosing a rocker switch

Match the rating to the load

Choose a switch rated above the current your accessory draws. For heavy loads such as fridges, compressors or spotlights, switch a relay with the rocker and let the relay carry the current.

12V or 12V / 24V?

12V switches suit cars, caravans and boats. Dual-voltage switches work on both 12V and 24V systems – handy for trucks and mixed fleets, and for keeping one part number in stock.

Illuminated or plain?

LED-illuminated rockers glow when switched on, so you can see what is running at a glance. Pick the LED colour to suit your dash or to code different circuits.

Check the panel cut-out

Measure the hole in your panel before ordering. Switches with a 19.8–20mm round cut-out drop into a standard 20mm hole; check each product page for the exact size and terminal type.

Common questions

What does SPST ON/OFF mean?

Single pole, single throw: one circuit, switched on or off. All rocker switches in this range are latching ON/OFF – they stay where you put them.

Can I use a 12V switch on a 24V vehicle?

Not if it is illuminated – the LED is made for 12V. Choose a 12V / 24V model for 24V systems.
