Description
The Ionnic Big Red is a fully sealed, heavy-duty double-pole battery isolator that can be switched both manually and remotely. It is designed for commercial, marine and industrial vehicles, and specifically for those carrying flammable loads such as fuel tankers and dangerous-goods vehicles, where it is used with an AS2809.2 compliant rollover switch.
A unique feature is delayed switching of the auxiliary contacts: they open about 2–3 milliseconds before the main contacts when switched electrically, and 100–150 milliseconds before when switched manually, allowing electronics to shut down cleanly. An LED shows when power is on. The thermoset polyester case is crack and impact resistant, resists fuel oils and petroleum, and is self-extinguishing in a fire.
Big Red is sealed to IP66 and approved to AS3947.3.2001 with C-Tick. Silver alloy contacts carry 500A intermittent and 200A for 5 minutes, and the zinc alloy handle provides manual override. The SSB102 suits 12V systems and the SSB100 suits 24V. It carries a 2-year warranty.
